Srushti Paryavaran Mandal have organized many extensive plantation drives over the last 5 years, in which more than 5000 saplings of different varieties were planted. The activities have been carried out in schools, colleges, around the city as well as around Bor WLS.

All the activities have been undertaken with the help of general public, so that they understand the importance of plants and how critical the task is. Most of the sapling were either procured from Social Forestry or from Srushti’s own nurseries that are developed by members on individual level.

Sapling planted were mostly of trees found in the local area and ornamental tree were specifically avoided. Fruit bearing tree or trees that encourage birding activities were planted.

Barren patches around Bor WLS were selected for plantations and children from local village schools were involved in these plantation drives.

As a rule, any important function, guide training programs, shramdan program is concluded with a plantation drive and people around are encouraged to join hands in this.
